About
Victoria (b. 1998, McAllen, Texas) is a multidisciplinary artist working across video, performance, sound, smell, sculpture, and installation. Known for their vibrant and dreamlike video installations, their practice marries elements of ritual, archival, memory, aging, and home. Using self-portraiture, investigative editing, and projections onto found objects, Victoria seeks to create moments of rebirth and transformation.
Often the central figure in their videos, they confront trauma and the everyday through beauty, experimenting with makeup, costumes, wigs, and personas. Victoria continuously discovers new ways to explore self-portraits, blurring the lines between performance and documentation.
Rooted in their upbringing along the US/Mexico border in the Rio Grande Valley, Victoria’s work draws on Queer and Mexican pop culture, traditions, and daily life. Their installations honor their lineage while examining how identity is shaped, documented, and re-imagined.
Victoria received their BA from St. Edward's University in 2020 and currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
Recent accomplishments include presenting their first solo exhibition at St. Edward’s University (2025, Austin, TX) and Ponte Creative Studio & Gallery (2025, McAllen, TX) and completing a residency at Warehouse9 (2025, Copenhagen, Denmark).
